Make a Gift
Each year, Prairie Heart Institute benefits from the generosity of our donors. The reason behind one's gift vary - just as personal interests and financial situations vary between individuals. The common thread woven throughout philanthropic giving is the desire to make Prairie Heart Institute the best place to receive care for the people of central and southern Illinois and beyond.
With your gift to the Prairie Heart Foundation, you can directly support patient care, research, medical education, equipment, rural heart care, and where the need is the greatest. You may also pay tribute to a special person who made a difference in your visit or stay with us. Your caregiver will receive an acknowledgment letter announcing a contribution has been made in his or her honor.
Thank you for your generosity that allows us to continue our shared mission to deliver nationally recognized care in local communities, as well as developing new and more efficient ways of meeting our patients' needs.
If you have any questions, please contact Paul Scherschel, Senior Gift Officer, at 217-503-9646.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
The Prairie Heart Foundation is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, therefore your gift is tax-deductible to the full extent provided by law. You should consult your financial planner or tax adviser to determine the exact tax advantages of any gift you are considering. We provide a receipt for all gifts that can be used to claim a tax deduction. If you need a copy of the receipt or need a receipt for your annual giving, please call 217-503-9646.
When you make a gift, a Prairie Heart Foundation representative will:
• Send a letter to the person you wish notified. Unless requested, we will not indicate the amount of your gift.
• Send you a confirmation letter that the gift has been received
• Designate your gift, if you wish, to benefit a particular area of Prairie Heart Institute of Illinois.
